UNBORN JESUS (six months)
This window is
centered on the image of the unborn Jesus. The great event in history was the
incarnation - the Son of God who is the second person of the Holy Trinity
assuming a human nature. This happened in the fullness of time, when the
Blessed Virgin Mary consented to his conception at the annunciation. With her
consent the Holy Spirit con conceived in her womb Jesus in the hypostatic union
of his divine and human nature. This image depicts Jesus in Mary's womb at six
months. This joyful mystery of the incarnation of the Son of God is the
greatest expression of the sacredness and dignity of every person's life from
the moment of their conception to their natural death. The unborn child is a
person with an inviolable right to life.
In this image, as in
most icons of Jesus, his head is surrounds by a halo, which contains a cross.
His sacred body is in the amniotic fluid through which can be seen the uterine
wall. Just above the central image is a dove representing the Holy Spirit. Just
above the Holy Spirit are three flames which symbolize the three infused
theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Love, Around the edge of the window are
twenty small light blue circles which represents the twenty mysteries of the
rosary. The rosary is a contemplative prayer of the life of Jesus and Mary on
earth and their glory now in heaven.
Under the central
image is a monstrance, which contains Jesus in the Holy Eucharist being adored
by two angels. His real presence in the sacred host is a reflection of his real
presence at the moment of his conception in his mother's womb as well as the
real presence of every person at the moment of conception in their mother's
womb.
