QUEEN OF APOSTLES

This window is centered on our Lady as Queen of the Apostles and surrounded by the Apostles at the descent of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2: 13-14 we read that the eleven Apostles devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, with some women and Mary the mother of Jesus as they awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit.  This bond of love in prayer among the Apostles and Mary is the model of the pilgrim Church as it was born at Pentecost and now as it serves and gives witness to the human family, and sings maranatha Ð COME LORD

JESUS.  In imitation of the Apostles we need to be with one accord

Of mind and heart in prayer and service with Mary our mother and queen to hasten the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus and to be daily renewed by the Holy Spirit.

In the frame of the window and above the Holy Spirit are seven winged shapes that represent the seven spirits that surround the throne of God in the book of Revelation. In the edge of the window are twenty star like shapes that represents the angels at the service of Mary, Queen of the Angels. In between these shapes are twenty bright blue beads that represent the twenty mysteries of the Holy Rosary, which is a contemplative prayer on the life of Jesus and Mary while on earth and their glory now in heaven. This prayer is a most sure way of staying and advancing in unity with Mary in prayer. The rosary was John Paul II favorite prayer. In his letter on the rosary he said that the rosary was a contemplation of Jesus through the eyes of Mary.  Just below and on either side of the central image are two red roses that represent the mystical and merciful love of Mary.  The oval on the right contains a monstrance, which holds and displays the Holy

Eucharist. The monstrance is a symbol of Mary who holds Jesus ever in her heart and constantly reveals him to all who pray with her.  The oval on the left contains the coat of arms of John Paul II.  The Cross and Capital M on the shield reflect his devotion to Christ crucified and Mary. As a true shepherd and chief apostle among the current successors of the Apostles he entrusted his entire pontificate to Mary his mother and queen (TOTUS TUUS) and constantly encourage us to stay united to her in prayer and seek her mostly loving intercession.
