HOLY FAMILY
In this window the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
is depicted as an intimate bond of interpersonal love, which is the basis of
marriage and family and is centered on the love of God. The icon also depicts
the unity of Faith, Hope, and Love that was the life of the Holy Family as well
as a reflection on the intimacy and oneness of the Holy Trinity. It is also a
sign of sacramental marriage centered on Christ and blessed by him.
At the top of the window is a
dove surrounded by tongues of fire. The dove represents the Holy Spirit and the
tongues of fire represent the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, which the
Holy Family received and implemented perfectly. Below the central image are two
ovals. The one on the left contains the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The one on the
right contains the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The central oval contains the
capital letters JMJ that represents the name of the Holy Family. Below these
are Star of David and the Holy Cross, which symbolize the old and New
Testament. The Holy Family lived a devout Jewish life while at the same time
anticipated and lived the imitation of Christ, which is the fulfillment of the
Mosaic Law. On top of the outer frame are seven fire-like winged shapes
that represent the seven spirits (angels) of God that surround his throne in
the book of Revelation. The twenty light blue circles in the border
around the window represent the twenty mysteries of the rosary, which is a
contemplative prayer of the life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
The eighteen yellow, orange, red diamond like shapes in
between the rosary beads represent some of the angels assigned to the Holy
Family while they lived on the earth
