LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME
This Catholic fine art print is centered on the event in the life of Jesus as recorded in Luke 15: 15-17. People were bringing even infants to him.
That he might touch them, and when the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. Jesus, however, called the children to himself and said, “Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.”
Above the central image is the Holy Spirit. Above the Holy Spirit is the cross that is flanked on each side by two diamond shapes that represents the four cardinal virtues of temperance, prudence, justice and fortitude. In the outer frame are twenty bright blue circles that represent the Holy Rosary, which is a contemplative prayer on the life of Jesus and Mary while on earth and now their life of glory in heaven. In between the rosary beads are eighteen diamond like shapes that represents the guardian angels of little children. The oval under the central image contains an image of the Eucharist under both species that is the gift of himself that children can now receive after instruction, preparation and first confession at the age of reason.
