CHRIST THE KING

This Christian stained glass window is centered on Christ the King. Christ the King is a title of Jesus based on several passages of Scripture and used by all Christians. Many denominations, including Catholics, Anglicans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, and some Lutherans and Methodists, celebrate, in honor of Christ under this title, the Feast of Christ the King on the last Sunday of the liturgical year, before a new year begins with the First Sunday of Advent, the earliest date of which is 27 November.  Throughout the New Testament especially in the Book of Revelation Jesus is referred to as King. In Revelation 16: 3-4 The saints joyfully sing the song of the Lamb (Jesus) ÒGreat and wonderful are your works, Lord God almighty, Just and true are your ways O king of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, or glorify your name? For you alone are Holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.Ó  As the second person of the trinity who assumed a human nature, Jesus is the Lord Ð King of all creation both in heaven and on earth.
